Township Animal Hospital is proud to work with local high schools to offer an avenue for real life work experience and education for those interested in entering the veterinary field:

  • Windsor High School: WorkAbility is a career awareness, exploration and training program for special education youth ages 16 and up. Windsor High School seeks employers in the business community who will give students with special needs a chance to prove themselves. WorkAbility:
  • Is a school and community transition program that benefits students and employers within the community that is funded by a grant from the California Department of Education.
  • Provides students with opportunities to participate in classroom career speaker presentations, job shadowing, industry tours and paid job training.
  • Promotes independent living and provides comprehensive pre-employment and follow-up services for special education youth
  • Benefits to students include:
    • assessment of interests, abilities and aptitudes
    • placement assistance and ongoing support services
    • subsidized training wages
    • worker’s compensation coverage
    • increased confidence and job skills
  • Healdsburg High School: Healdsburg High School’s Academic Internship Program allows students to get ahead when it comes to college entrance, scholarships and job applications. Since 2015, Township Animal Hospital has allowed one intern a year to gain hands on experience and learn skills pertaining to our practice here as an animal hospital.
