Dr. Paula Capurro

Dr. Paula Capurro Smith grew up in the East Coast, in Pennsylvania and Florida. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from Florida International University in 2003.

She moved to California to attend veterinary school in 2004 at Western University of Health Sciences’ College of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated top of her class and moved to Sonoma County in 2008, and has been practicing veterinary medicine here ever since.

She has a passion for excellent medical care, great compassion for both animals and clients, and absolutely loves her job!

Her husband and her share their home with chickens, ducks, a goose, a desert tortoise, a saltwater fish tank, and various dogs and cats. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, working on home improvement projects, and spending time with her loved ones and her many pets!

Dr. Darcy Atterbury

Dr. Darcy Atterbury graduated from the University of
Minnesota in 1978. After working in Southern CA for
2 years, she met and married her husband Tom,
moved to Northern CA, and later had 4 children.
Darcy has worked at most of the vet hospitals in
Sonoma County, doing relief work while raising their
children. She joined the team at Township Animal
Hospital in 2014 on a very part time basis but is now
frequently seeing patients and doing surgical
procedures. Darcy also spays cats every week for
Forgotten Felines of Sonoma County and whelps
and raises litters of puppies for Canine Companions
for Independence. The Atterbury “empty” nest is
filled with 3 dogs, 1 cat, puppies at various times,
and home visits by their married kids and
grandchildren.

Alex

Alex was born in Hollywood, grew up in California’s
Central Valley, and she moved to Sonoma County in
2003. She has always been drawn to animals, especially
dogs, and has worked at Township Animal Hospital since 2006, where she supervises the veterinary technicians! In her spare time, Alex enjoys camping,
hiking, visiting the beach with her yellow lab, and working on various detailed crafts.

Coni

Following a career in group and corporate travel, she embarked upon, almost by accident, what is now a 25 year long career in veterinary medicine. It was an excellent career change choice, and she never has looked back. The bond developed when caring for her patients has been rewarding and a true passion of hers throughout the years. A few years ago Coni moved into an administrative role, but that certainly has not stopped her from spending the tie with and befriending the patients.

Coni’s free time is spent with her amazing family, including her two beautiful daughters, their significant others, and her four absolutely amazing grandchildren Ella, Avi, Alexander, and Addison.

Coni is a runner, loves to garden, and is very passionate about cooking. She always has a knitting project in the works and a half-read novel waiting to be finished. She also loves anything Disney or Harry Potter.

Anne

Anne grew up in Marin and came to Windsor in
1981. She has been married to her lifelong love,
her husband Bud, and has two grown children.
She has worked at Township Animal Hospital
since 2003. Anne is very talented at working with
stained glass projects, and gifted our hospital with
one of her pieces that hangs in the lobby. In her
spare time she enjoys gardening and eating out
with her husband, and spending time with her cat,
Mimi.

Jazmin

Jazmin was born in Ciudad Juarez in Mexico, but has
been raised in Sonoma County since she was three
years old. Jazmin has wanted to be a veterinarian
ever since she was a little girl, and she has worked at
Township Animal Hospital since August of 2019. She has a dog named Rosie, a turtle named Franklin, and a young daughter who you might see here at Township!

Cheryl

Cheryl is a lifelong animal lover who started working at
Township in August of 2019. In addition to being a foster for Dogwood Animal Rescue for four years, Cheryl has three dogs and four chickens of her own at home. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, home
improvement, and traveling- especially to Disneyland!

Evelyn

Evelyn began working at Township in April of 2021, and based on her experience here she plans to go on to higher education to become a veterinarian herself one day! She recently graduated from Santa Rosa High School, and now she works here at Township full time. In her free time, Evelyn enjoys drawing and painting, and hopes to have many rescue pets of her own one day.

Samantha

Samantha was born and raised here in Windsor. She started working in veterinary medicine in 2020 and was excited to join the team at Township in her hometown in 2021. She is passionate about animals and has a Boxer mix named Bentley. Samantha also loves traveling, spending time with family, and visiting Disneyland as much as possible.

Kaitlin

Kaitlin grew up in California and her family always had a cat in the house. Now she has a German Shepherd and two cats. She knew that animals were her passion and working with them was something she always strived to do. She completed an internship at Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue through college and obtained a certificate in Zoo and Aquarium Science and Wildlife Rehabilitation. She has a Biology degree from Sonoma State University.

Working as a vet assistant at Township Animal Hospital has helped her gain the confidence and respect to treat pets and help people understand their pets’ needs better. You can catch her at the hospital cuddling with pets as they recover from surgery or helping out with patient appointments. In her free time, she likes to spend time outdoors whenever she can with her dog or spend time with her friends.

Stephanie

Stephanie grew up here in Windsor, but now lives in Rincon Valley with her husband of 16 years and her two children. She has an affection for all furry friends, but an extra soft spot for the Dachshund breed of which she has three of her own!

She spent 8 years as a preschool teacher in Rincon Valley and then decided she wanted a change, choosing then to pursue a career that indulged her love of animals.

She enjoys being a mom, and loves anything to do with her kids, from watching her son play baseball to supporting her daughter with Girl Scouts. She also loves spending time with her friends and pets.

Caileigh

Caileigh was born and raised in Santa Rosa. She joined the team at Township Animal Hospital in 2024, when her two young kids started preschool. She enjoys spending her free time with her kids and her dog, Zeppelin. They love going on hikes, going to the park, and spending time at the beach. You will likely see Caileigh in the reception area.

Maya

Maya is a 2023 graduate of Windsor High School that started working at Township Animal Hospital in 2023. You will usually see her helping with appointments and making every patient feel welcome and comfortable. She has always loved animals, especially dogs, and has done some volunteer work with them from a young age. She is currently enrolled in college while also working at Township and has an interest in human medicine. In her free time she likes to hang out with her four American Bullies and spend time with family and friends.She also loves anything Disney and you may spot Mickey Mouse jibitz on her crocs!

Lexi

Lexi has been working at Township Animal Hospital since 2022. She was born and raised in Santa Rosa and still lives there. You will usually see her taking care of pets that come in for technician appointments. She currently has two dogs and one cat, but grew up with all kinds of animals! She likes to spend her free time hanging out with her pets and loved ones, or roller skating.

Ali

Ali has been working in veterinary medicine as a vet tech and a receptionist since 2001, both in small animal and in equine medicine. She stepped away for the last 10 years to work at her family’s business.

In 2024, she was welcomed into the Township Animal Hospital family and is working in the customer service and reception side of the practice. She lives with her husband and Dogwood rescue dog, Brinny.
